Aldersly Receives Community Award

Aldersly, a San Rafael-based nonprofit Life Plan Community, is pleased to announce it has been awarded Holleran’s Choice Community Award after the completion of its 2023 Employee Engagement survey. The accolade was given to Aldersly for stakeholder engagement at the highest levels, placing Aldersly at the top of the Holleran National Benchmark. The award also recognizes Aldersly as one of the most engaging senior living organizations in the nation.

“It’s a great honor for Aldersly to receive the award, which confirms our commitment to building a robust culture of engagement within our community,” said Shannon Brown, Aldersly executive director. “This recognition further underscores the continuous efforts Aldersly puts into creating a more collaborative and fundamentally stronger community for our residents and employees.”

Winners of the ‘Choice Community Award’ are chosen by a proprietary algorithm created by the highly skilled statisticians, researchers, and analysts at Holleran. Nearly 70 Aldersly staff members were polled with a 100% response rate.

Holleran has the largest benchmark of its kind, measuring both resident and employee engagement in the senior living space. Currently, the benchmark comprises more than 161,000 resident and employee surveys, from nearly 600 organizations across 35 U.S. states, D.C., and Canada, all completed within the last three years.

Celebrating 100 years in 2022, Aldersly is a nonprofit Life Plan Community for older adults based in San Rafael, California. Originally established by Danish immigrants in 1921 as a nonprofit retirement community, the modern Aldersly still adheres to the way of life its founders called “hygge”—a feeling of comfort, positivity, and well-being. Aldersly recently opened the doors to its Rosenborg Memory Care, which includes state-of-the-art features designed specifically to enhance the life experience and wellness of those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
