SAN RAFAEL, CA — Aldersly, a life-care community 20 miles north of San Francisco that has been serving older adults for 102 years, has earned two highly regarded awards.
Holleran’s Choice Community Award for Employee Engagement is a testament to Aldersly’s dedication to staff engagement and creating community; they received a perfect response rate from the staff members queried.
Aldersly was also recently honored with a Marin IJ Readers’ Choice Honor Award in the Best Retirement Community in Marin County category.
Winners of Holleran’s Choice Community Awards are chosen by a proprietary algorithm. Nearly 70 Aldersly staff members were polled, with the community receiving a 100 percent response rate. Holleran measures both resident and employee engagement in the senior living space. Currently, the benchmark comprises more than 161,000 resident and employee surveys, from nearly 600 organizations across 35 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Canada, all completed within the last three years.
The Readers’ Choice Awards, which are administered by the Marin IJ newspaper, recognizes the achievements of Marin County’s dynamic businesses and leaders who provide superior service and make an impact in the community. Nearly 65,000 categorical votes were cast to determine the standouts for the annual Marin IJ Readers’ Choice Award.
Aldersly, a nonprofit life-plan community established by Danish immigrants in 1921, continues to adhere to the way of life its founders called “hygge” — a feeling of comfort, positivity, and wellbeing. Aldersly recently opened the doors to its Rosenborg Memory Care, which includes state-of-the-art features designed specifically to enhance the life experience and wellness of those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Aldersly is also adding 35 new independent living apartment residences as part of a multi-phase expansion.
